September 16: Saint Paul Almanac Release Party!

This Thursday, September 16 at 6 pm the Saint Paul Almanac will be hosting a release party of the 2011 edition of the “popular and populistic anthology, event calendar and guide for visitors and residents of Saint Paul.

This on going collaboration between community editors, established and “emerging” writers, photographers and artists is a true celebration of cultural capital. Simply in principle I support everything the Almanac stands for. It is a delightful democratization of literary prowess that falls outside of the an academic institution.

Also included- of great excitement to me- are photographs by Wing Young Huie creator/creative director for the University Avenue Project that highlights the dimension and diversity of the neighborhoods connected to the Saint Paul thoroughfare. @2speakease has covered this before but “From May through October of 2010, the project, produced by Public Art Saint Paul, is transforming Saint Paul’s University Avenue into a six-mile-long, multi-media, public gallery.”
